Assalam o alaikum,
Furthermore, Allah (swt) says in the Holy Quran,
‘Amongst the signs of His existence are the creation of the heavens and the earth and the differences of languages and complexions.’ (TMQ-30:22)
The existence of over 6,000 different languages with different accents and scripts is undoubtedly a miracle of Allah (swt). The difference in languages helps in the identification of a person’s region even in a group of thousands of people. Similarly, though the entire human race has been created from a single pair, i.e. Hazrat Adam and Hawa (ra), yet there is a striking difference in their complexions. This difference is also not just of two types, i.e. fair and dark skin but there are various skin tones. Moreover, there is a difference in the facial features and physique as well which helps one to identify a person belonging to a particular region. All this proves that these differences in complexion, physical appearance, languages are Signs of Allah (swt)’s existence. These differences do not hint at the superiority of white skin over dark skin or one tribe/race over the other.
The first Muezzin of Islam, namely Hazrat Bilal (ra) was a black slave from Ethiopia. He had reverted to Islam and was one of the most loyal Companion of the Prophet (Saw)
Prophet Mohammad (saw) said, ‘All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black and neither does a black has any superiority over white, except by piety and good action”.
These examples show that Islam does not give preference to any tribe or race. Instead, it preaches about the high ideals of brotherhood.
