Assalam oalaikum
Narrated Abdullah bin Masoud that Prophet Mohammad (saw) advised, ‘Drink cow’s milk because cows graze on every kind of plant’.
In another narration Abdullah ibn Abbas said ‘I was in the house of Maymunah (ra) and Prophet Mohammad (saw) was brought milk which he drank. Prophet Mohammad (saw) said, ‘when one of you eats food you should say: ‘Oh Allah! Bless us in it and provide us better (nourishment) than it”. When one of you gets milk to drink then you should say ‘Oh Allah! Bless us in it and give us more of it, for no food or drink satisfies like milk’. (Sunan Abu Dawood –Book 26-# 3721)
What has been made clear to us 1400 years ago has been discovered only recently.
The modern scientific studies have come up with the following amazing health benefits associated with consumption of milk:
Milk consumption along with a daily routine of oral hygiene can be anti-cariogenic.
Milk and milk products contain calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and proteins which make the bones healthy and strong.
Regular intake of low fat milk helps to reduce the threat of type 2 diabetes.
Research shows that increased consumption of milk can prevent both colorectal and breast cancer.
These facts are hardly surprising because if milk was not so beneficial to mankind then it would not have been given so much importance in the Holy Quran and ahadith.
