Assalam oalaikum,
Many phytonutrients found in grapes may play an active role in longevity and may provide us with anti-aging advantages.
Recent research on grape extract suggests that grapes may provide us with some significant cognitive advantages. Studies on animals have proved that too much buildup of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the brain can be averted with the intake of grape extracts. Intake of grape extracts also reduces the synthesis of pro-inflammatory messaging molecules in the brain.
Various phytonutrients found in grapes have been shown to contain anti-microbial properties. These phytonutrients are found in a broad range. Modern research shows that grapes may also contain a unique set of oligopeptides, which possess anti-microbial properties. Research scientists have started speculating about their probable role in helping us avoid microbe-related troubles such as food-borne diseases.
Owing to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties grapes provide us with a natural protection against cancer because chronic inflammation and chronic oxidative stress are amongst the main factors in the development of cancer. If our cells get weighed down due to oxidative stress and chronic extreme inflammation, we may have an increased risk of cell cancer. Grapes, being rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients, can protect us from the lethal grouping of chronic inflammation and chronic oxidative stress.
Prophet Mohammad (saw) liked eating grapes. The numerous benefits of eating grapes, as discovered recently and their mention in Al-Quran cannot be a mere co-incidence. The mention of grapes in the Holy Quran hints at its plethora of benefits for the mankind and the wisdom and mercy of Allah (swt).
