Assalam oalikum,

Abdullah Al Khayat was an excellent Quran reciter who had memorized the Holy

Qur’an at an early age. He took religious lessons from distinguished sheikhs of his

times such as Abdu Daher Mohamed Abu Samh, Sheikh Abdullah Ibn Hassan Al

eSheikh and Sheikh Mohamed Abdur Razik Hamza.

His outstanding voice had made his recitations very popular. His recitations were

aired frequently on the Saudi official TV channels and broadcast on radio

stations. Besides, being a leading Quran reciter of his times he was also a

scholarly person and a renowned theologian. He was a distinguished member of

the Master Theologians Instance.

Abdullah Al Khayat had graduated from the Saudi Scientific Institute in 1360

Hijri. He was appointed as an Imam and preacher in the Holy Mosque in Jeddah

by a royal appointment. Later on he was exempted from his Imamate on health

grounds.Abdullah Al Khayat’s contribution to the intellectual Islamic movement

was commendable as he had published a lot of literature on various Islamic

matters Abdullah Al Khayat passed away in the Shaaban of 1415 Hijri.
