Assalam oalaikum
So far we have discussed the Quranic verses in which some foods have been mentioned either directly or indirectly. Some of them include fruits such as pomegranates, olives and figs. Fish, honey, barley, dates, milk, honey have also been mentioned amongst other foods in Al Quran.
We find that the verse 16:69 of the Holy Quran refers to honey as ‘a healing for mankind’. This is a clear indication that people should include honey in their diet. In other words, this verse encourages mankind to utilize the benefits of honey.
In verses 25-26 of Surah Maryam Allah (swt) has suggested Hazrat Maryam to eat dates during her pregnancy
This establishes the importance of dates as a nutritious food. If we want to lead a healthy life we should be aware about the foods which have been given much importance in the Holy Quran. We should try to understand that Allah (swt) has enlightened us about certain foods in the Quran only for our benefit and if He has discouraged us from eating certain foods so that is for our benefit too.
Now it is up to us that how much we utilize this information and guidance.
