Assalam oalaikum,
Honey is one of the foods that have been mentioned in Al-Quran. Allah (swt) says in Al-Quran: “Your Lord revealed to the bees: "Build dwellings in the mountains and the trees, and also in the structures which men erect. Then eat from every kind of fruit and travel the paths of your Lord, which have been made easy for you to follow." From inside them comes a drink of varying colors, containing healing for mankind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect. (Qur'an, 16:69)
Honey has been mentioned in numerous ahadith, such as:
Narrated Hazrat 'Aisha (ra): The Prophet used to like sweet edible things and honey (Sahih Bukhari).
In another tradition, Prophet Mohammad (saw) said: "Make use of the two remedies: Honey and the Qur'an."
Prophet Mohammad (saw) used to sometimes drink an infusion of water sweetened with honey on an empty stomach, and such a custom has many benefits and subtle secrets.
Ibn Maja noted a prophetic saying narrated by Abu Huraira (ra.) that the Prophet Mohammad (saw) said: "Whosoever eats honey (at least) three times per month will meet with no great affliction."
If a person eats honey, a thousand remedies enter his stomach and a million diseases will come out. If a man dies and honey is found within him, fire will not touch his body [i.e., he will be immune from the burning of hell]." Hadith
Honey has been given much importance in the Quran as well as the ahadith. This goes to show its significance and utility for mankind.
