The role of womenfolk in the light of Seerat-e-Nabawi
Assalam olaikum,
Allah (swt) has created a delicate balance in the universe. If this balance goes awry then the entire universe can become unstable. Likewise, if there is a balance in the relationship between man and woman in every sphere of life then there will be stability, peace and harmony in the society.
The purpose behind education of women is not primarily monetary because Allah (swt) has not placed the responsibility of earning on the shoulders of women. The Holy Quran says: ‘Men are the maintainer of women, with what Allah has made some of them to excel others and with what they spend out of their wealth.’ (TMQ- 4:34).
Educating womenfolk is important to protect them from ignorance and to enlighten them. Women have been assigned an important role to play in the society, i.e. upbringing of the children so that they grow up to be good human beings.
Prophet Muhammad (saw) used to treat his family with kindness and has set an example for others to follow. He used to fulfill their appropriate desires. For example: When Hazrat Aisha (ra) expressed a desire to watch a sword show in the yard of the mosque, Prophet Mohammad (saw) accepted her request and waited till the show ended.
