The obligation of respecting Al-Qur’an-3
Quran should be read in a melodious voice. There are various Ahadith which emphasize on this aspect. Bara' ibn Azb narrated that the Messenger of Allah (swt) said: "Beautify the Qur'an with your voices". Narrated Abu Harayra (RA) that Prophet Mohammad (swt) said: "He is not of us, he who doesn't recite the Qur'an in a melodious voice."
The reason why the readers of Quran are encouraged to read it in a beautiful voice is that it facilitates the understanding of the meaning of the verses. Besides this, it also moves anyone who might hear it. On the other hand, reciting it melodiously with the intention of entertaining others (like a song does) is haraam (forbidden). A really beautiful and melodious recitation is the one which has correct pronunciation and correct application of the rules of tajweed.
If a reader feels the need to yawn then it is essential that the urge should be controlled during reading until it vanishes.
While reading Quran the reader’s heart should be full of the glory of Qur’an.
The reader should uphold in his/her heart the Majesty and Magnificence of Allah (swt).
The reader should not have any distraction and doubts in his mind and he should try to enjoy reading it.
If the verses that are being read convey the message of mercy, the reader’s heart should be filled with happiness. If the verses convey the message of reprimand, the reader’s heart should tremble with fear of Allah (swt).
May Allah (swt) fill our hearts with reverence for Al-Qur’an.
