Assalam oalaikum,
6. Then let man look at his food: We pour forth water in abundance. And We split the earth in clefts. And We cause therein the grain to grow, And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), And olives and dates, And gardens dense with many trees, And fruits and herbage, (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. ( Abasa: 24-32).
7. By the figs and the olives. By Mount of Sinai. And this city of security (Makkah). (at-Tin: 1-3).
Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyah, who was a well-known commentator on Al-Quran, was the author of many popular books too. One of his books is Al-Tibb al-Nabawiya, which is a book on Prophetic medicine. In this book he has mentioned about the benefits of olives. He has mentioned that olives are a great cure for the skin and hair. They delay the ageing process and treat inflammation of the stomach. They are beneficial for patients with heart diseases.
Imam Jalaluddin as-Suyuti has written in his book, “Medicine of the Prophet” that one should drink Olive oil to improve bowel movement, soothe pains and combat constipation.
In the recent times, medical research has discovered the numerous benefits of olives which have been highlighted in Quran 1400 years ago
