Assalam olaikum,
Criticism has been leveled against Islam as being intolerant and fanatic, again and again. The critics never get tired of blaming Islam of not showing respect towards the believers of other religions.
Let us find for ourselves how much truth is there in their statements by doing some research about this matter. Since Islam has been accused of intolerance let us first see how tolerant were the Jews and Christians towards Islam in the first place.
Prophet Mohammad (saw) who has been sent on earth as the last Prophet, for guiding mankind by Allah (swt), has been labeled as an imposter, anti-Christ etc
His followers, i.e. the Muslims have been labeled as infidels.
Western orientalists have produced a lot of biased work against Islam and its followers to brainwash people against Islam.
Though Muslims all over the world show immense respect towards Moses, Jesus and the rest of the prophets yet Prophet Mohammad (saw) was disrespected by those who envied him.
The poison which was limited to such nasty writers soon spread far and wide. Consequently, Islam became a highly misunderstood religion. (contd)
