Punishment for accusing pious women in islam-2
Assalam oalaikum,
The Holy Quran says in An-Noor verse 4 that if any person in the society blames a chaste woman of being characterless or an adulteress but is unable to produce 4 reliable eye-witnesses to back up his accusation in a court of law, (completely regardless of whether or not the charges are true or false) the person who makes such charges will be guilty of ‘qazf’ and the Shariah Court will order to flog that person with eighty lashes for his unsubstantiated charge against a pious believer. Moreover, such a person will not be able to bear witness again in a Shariah Court of Law.
Now let us move on to the next verse.
Except those who repent thereafter and do righteous deeds, (for such) verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Quran: An-Noor verse-5)
There is consent amongst majority of the Islamic scholars and jurists in this mater. If a man blames a chaste woman of being immoral and is not able to substantiate his charges in a court of Shariah Law (by bringing forth four witnesses),his sincere regret will relieve him of his sin in the Sight of Allah (swt) because Allah is forgiving and merciful. However, his repentance cannot relieve him of his crime of ‘qazf’ ( unsubstantiated accusation against a chaste woman in a court of law in this world and the person will be subjected to the punishment ofribed eighty lashes by the Judge for his ‘qazf’ in accordance with Shariah Law.
Allah (swt) also says in Surah An-Noor.verse 23 and 24: Surely those who accuse pious, believing women, unaware (of the evils), are cursed in this world and the hereafter and they shall have a grievous chastisement. On the day when their tongue and their hands and their feet shall bear witness against them as to what they did."
The above verses make clear that those who falsely point the finger at innocent men or women of adultery are cursed by Allah (SWT) as long as they are alive, and in the life hereafter they shall be deprived of Allah’s Divine Mercy.
In order to protect ourselves from the wrath of Allah (swt) we, as true Muslims, should keep a safe distance from such malignant people who do not think twice before accusing others falsely and we should be never believe their false accusations.
