The attributes of Al-Quran-4
Assalam oalaikum,
Allah (swt) has challenged mankind in the following verses:
Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." [Qur'an 17:88]
Or do they say: "He (Muhammad (saw) has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a surah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allah, if you are truthful!" [Qur'an 10:37-38]
It is hardly surprising that it is impossible for the mankind to even consider taking up this challenge because Quran is a heavenly book.
The beautiful style of Quran is appreciated even by the Arab Christians. There is nothing which can hold a candle to the Qur'an in the Arabic literature, whether poetry or prose. Its inimitability clearly shows al-Quran is the word of Allah (swt) and not of humanity. It is Allah (SWT)’s revelation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it has remained unchanged since it was revealed.
Allah (SWT) expresses this superior attribute as follows:
"If you have doubts about what We have sent down to Our servant, produce another surah equal to it and call your witnesses, besides Allah, if you are telling the truth. If you do not do that - and you will not do it – then guard yourselves against the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, made ready for the unbelievers." (Al-Baqarah/2:23-24)
