Mention of Milk in Quran-1
Assalam oalaikum
Milk which is known as haleeb in Arabic has found its mention in the Holy Quran in the following verses:
“(Here is) a parable of the garden which the righteous have been promised. In it our rivers of water incorruptible, rivers of milk the of which the taste never changes” (TMQ-47:15)
“Pure milk easy and agreeable to swallow for those who drink”. (TQM-16:66)
Milk also finds its mention in numerous ahadith such as the following:
Prophet Mohammad (saw) said ‘Drink milk, for it wipes away heat from the heart as the finger wipes away the sweat from the brow. Moreover, it strengthens the back, enhances intellect, restores vision and drives away absent-mindedness.’
Prophet Mohammad (saw) is reported to be pleased when he was drinking goat’s milk
The above mentioned Quranic verses and ahadith prove that milk is an almost complete food which has been provided to us by our Creator, Allah (swt) and we should be grateful for it.
