Shaitan’s evil Mission
Assalam oalaikum,
In order to defeat our biggest enemy, shaitan, first of all, it is imperative to understand his mission. Allah (swt) has told us about shaitan’s mission in the Quran, “(Iblees) said: ‘Because You have sent me astray, surely, I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)’” Quran, Al-Araf:16 &17.
Shaitan shows his impudence in these verses and also makes it clear that he will not leave any stones unturned in trying to mislead mankind. Satan’s ultimate goal is to make people go astray so that they may become disbelievers or at least polytheists.
Allah (swt) also says in the Quran: "(Iblis (Satan)) said: ‘By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, except for Your chosen slaves amongst them (i.e. the faithful, obedient and true believers of Islamic monotheism.) Quran: Saad 82-83
Allah (swt) said to shaitan, ‘Certainly, you shall have no authority over my slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawun (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers)” Quran: Al Hijr.42
These verses show that despite all his sinister attempts to mislead mankind, shaitan will be unable to control the minds of Allah’s slaves, i.e. those of us who are aware of Satan’s cunning tactics and use our protection that Allah (swt) has provided us to fight off those tactics.
Allah (swt) has cautioned us several times in the Quran about our biggest enemy, shaitan, and also about his evil mission of making us disobey Allah and stop worshipping him.
Allah says in the Quran: “Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire” (Faatir 35:6).
So the wise amongst the mankind are those of us who take Allah (swt)’s warning seriously and obey only Him so that we do not end up in the blazing fire of hell.
