How to overcome satan’s whispers
Assalam oalaikum,
However much satan tries to entice us yet the pious amongst us will never be tempted by him or fall into his trap. Those who fear Allah (swt) know for sure that satan is the biggest enemy of mankind and his goal is to make human beings go astray. He wants mankind to indulge in everything that Allah (swt) has forbidden us to do during our temporary life in this world.
The way of freeing ourselves from Satan’s whisperings lies in seeking refuge in Allah (swt) and obeying Him. Remembering Allah (swt) helps us to overpower the devilish thoughts.
The Holy Qur'an says:
As for those who fear Allah, when they are bothered by visitors from Satan, they remember and immediately see clearly. (Surat al-A'raf, 201)
Say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils. [The Noble Quran 23:97]
When you read the Quran, you shall seek refuge in God from satan the rejected. [The Noble Quran 16:98]
When the devil whispers an idea to you, you shall seek refuge in God. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient [The Noble Quran 41:36]
