Allah (swt)’s promise to protect Al-Quran-2
Assalam oalaikum,
Since Allah (swt) has himself promised to protect his Word, i.e. Al-Quran therefore it is hardly surprising that the Quran is still in its original form and will always remain so.
Allah (SWT) had etched the revelations into Prophet Mohammad (saw)’s memory. Besides this, immediately after receiving each revelation, Prophet Mohammad (saw) asked his Companions (ra) to write down the Wahi. This ensured the preservation of Al-Quran’s in its original textual form.
Caliph Abu Bakr (ra) had Al-Quran collected into a single copy whereas Caliph ‘Uthman (ra) had copies of Al-Quran dispatched to important Islamic cities.
The following verses show the unique way in which Allah (swt) engraved the Revelations in the mind of Prophet Mohammad (saw):
"Do not move your tongue trying to hasten it. Its collection and recitation are Our affair. So when We recite it, follow its recitation. Then its explanation is Our concern." (Al- Qiyamah/75:16-19)
Since the Companions (ra) of the Prophet Mohammad (saw) wrote it down during his lifetime, therefore in conformity with Allah’s (swt) promise, each and every letter has remained intact since the time of its revelation (over 1,400 years ago).
Moreover, there is no internal contradiction and discrepancy in Al-Quran which goes to show that it is from Allah (swt) and is immune to change.
