The obligation of respecting Al-Qur’an- 7
Assalam olaikum,
~It is commendable not to choose specific verses from each surah for reciting but reciting the whole surah instead
~If one has to discontinue reading for a while than the Qur'an should not to be left open.
~ It is prohibited to trivially quote the Qur'an at day-to-day occurrence/ events. For example, saying the following verse on someone’s arrival: You have come hither according to a decree, O Moses [Qur'an 69:24], or saying the following verse when food is served: “Eat and drink heartily for what you have done aforetimes, in days gone by [Qur'an 69:24]
~Quran should be recited with a tremulous or plaintive tone as this is misguidance
~ If there is a need to write Quran then it should be written in a clear, elegant handwriting
~ If two people are reciting it, they should not try to make it seem like some sort of competition
~It is prohibited to toss it while passing it to someone.
~ Quran should be miniaturized
~ If Quranic verses are written as an amulet then the amulet should be enclosed in a case of leather, silver, etc. It is prohibited to enter a toilet if the Quranic verses are not properly encased. With a case on it is as if it has been kept in the heart
~If the entire Qur'an has been read then one should read some portion from the beginning (to show reverence for Quran) so that it may not resemble something that has been abandoned.
