Allah (swt)’s promise to protect Al-Quran
Assalam oalaikum,
Having good memories made the task of memorizing Al-Quran easy for the Sahaabas (ra). Besides this, the fact that the language of the Quran was Arabic made the task even easier to accomplish. Consequently numerous of
Sahaaba (ra) became hafiz of the entire Quran. Many more of them had learnt certain parts of The Quran by heart.
Some of the well-known Huffaaz (plural of Hafiz) amongst the Sahaaba (ra) were: Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra), Hazrat Umar (ra), Hazrat Uthman (ra), Hazrat Ali (ra), Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (ra), Hazrat Talha (ra) and Hazrat Sa'd (ra),
This practice of memorizing The Holy Quran was carried on after the Sahaaba (RA), and will go on till The Day of Qiyamat. By the grace of Allah (swt) Quran will be taught till the end of this world.
So we see that one of the most significant attributes of Al-Quran is that it reached us in the original in which it had been revealed to Prophet Muhammad (saw). Allah (swt) has promised to protect it in the Quran: "We have sent down the Reminder, and We will preserve it." (Al-Hijr/15:9).
