Healing drinks - 6
Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem
Assalamoalaikum,
Tirmizi narrated that Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "When any of you
eats food, let him say 'O Allah! Bless it for us and give us what is
better than it'. But when someone is given milk, let him say 'O Allah!
Bless it for us and give us more of it. Certainly, milk is the only
food or drink that is sufficient".
• Drinking sweet milk in warm regions is very beneficial in preserving
the health. It also provides moisture to the body.
Muslim has narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (Saw) liked Nabeez (some
dates soaked in water) to be made in the beginning of the night and
would drink it in the morning of the next day, the next night and the
next day, and another night, and the next day until Asr. If any of it
remained, he would then order that it should be thrown away".
Nabeez has been mentioned in this Hadith as a drink that is made with
dates that have been soaked in water. This sweetens the water and can
be used in drinks as well as foods. Nabeez is very beneficial for
health as it strengthens the body. Prophet Muhammad (saw) never drank
the Nabeez that was more than three days old as he feared that it
might have begun to decompose and might have become intoxicating.
