Assalam oalaikum,
As we know that a problem recognized is a problem half-solved. So if we understand that a particular thought that enters our minds must be a satanic whisper then it becomes easy to deal with it. The first reaction of a pious Muslim to a satanic whisper is that how can I ever think about something so evil or how could such an evil thought ever enter into my mind?
There is no need for any practicing Muslim to feel guilty in a dislocated way about the recurring evil shaitani waswasaas or satanic whispers. Such evil thoughts coming from an outside source, i.e. shaitan cannot turn a pious man into a sinner until and unless he acts upon them or speaks about them. So we see that the best way to deal with such whispers is to ignore them. The more we pay attention to them the more chance will the shaitan get to perpetuate such evil thoughts and make us fall into his trap.
Prophet Mohammad (saw) said: “Allah (swt) will forgive my Ummah for whatever crosses their minds so long as they do not speak of it or act upon it.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4968; Muslim, 127
Hence a Muslim will not be considered to be a sinner because of the waswaas that come from the Shaytaan or from his own nafs as long as he does not speak about them or act upon them.
